Growing Season Is Underway

While outdoor planting may still be a few weeks away, now is a very busy and important time in our greenhouses. Right now, our focus is on growing cooler-weather annuals that thrive in early spring conditions. These plants are carefully nurtured so they are strong, healthy, and ready to be enjoyed as soon as the weather allows.

Among the first stars of the season are pansies, a spring favorite known for their cheerful color and ability to handle cooler temperatures. Alongside pansies, you’ll also see ranunculus and many other early-season annuals taking shape. These plants are perfect for refreshing containers, garden beds, and entryways after a long winter.

Homegrown Makes the Difference

One of the things that sets Bob’s Garden Center apart is our commitment to growing locally. In fact, about 70 percent of our plants are grown right here on the premises. From seed to sale, our team carefully monitors each stage of growth to ensure strong root systems, vibrant foliage, and long-lasting performance once plants leave the greenhouse.

Growing plants on-site allows us to control quality and timing, so you get healthier plants that are better adapted to local conditions. It’s also a beautiful process to witness—rows of green stretching across the greenhouse, full of promise for the season ahead.
