Dracaena marginata is an attractive, stiff-leaved plant with colorful foliage that sometimes goes by the name "dragon tree." Most of the time its sold simply as Dracaena marginata or just Dracaena. These plants are perfect for a beginner gardener because they're very easy to grow indoors.

Dieffenbachia is a perennial herbaceous plant with straight stem, simple and alternate leaves containing white spots and flecks, making it attractive as indoor foliage. Species in this genus are popular as houseplants because of their tolerance of shade. Its English names, dumb cane and mother-in-law's tongue (also used for Sansevieria species) refer to the poisoning effect of raphides, which can cause temporary inability to speak.

Aglaonema is a genus of flowering plants in the arum family, Araceae. They are native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and New Guinea. They are known commonly as Chinese evergreens.

Hedera helix, the common ivy, English ivy, European ivy, or just ivy, is a species of flowering plant in the family Araliaceae, native to most of Europe and western Asia. Use cordyline by themselves in large pots or urns to flank an entry or mix them with flowering annuals to create an eye-catching focal point. Cordyline can grow 3 feet tall with red, pink, or bi-colored leaves. In the North, grow cordyline as an annual. Hardy from zones 9-11.

Crested euphorbia is simple to grow: Keep it in a spot that receives lots of light and relatively warm temperatures. It can take a lot of direct sun indoors, even in hot-summer climates. Because it's actually a succulent, crested euphorbia is a low-water houseplant and needs infrequent watering (typically once every couple of weeks or so).

Dracaena Song Of India The song of India plant is a species from the dracaena genus (dracaena reflexa) that has become a popular house plant. This tree like plant is fairly easy to grow and maintain like others from this genus, although it does require high humidity levels.

Syngonium is a dense, compact plant with a nice rounded look. This makes it very suitable as a house or office plant with lots of lovely symmetrical branching leaves. It looks great as a table center piece! Syngonium Pink has different shades of pink leaves.

Aloe vera is a succulent plant species of the genus Aloe. The plant is stemless or very short-stemmed with thick, greenish, fleshy leaves that fan out from the plant’s central stem. The margin of the leaf is serrated with small teeth.

From large to small, they're great for your shady areas, but there are some that don't mind a sunny spot.
